HEALTHY START: Students’ health exams and immunizations must be up-to-date to attend the first day of school

Under the District’s new “first-day exclusion” policy, students whose health exam and immunization records are NOT up-to-date and on file at their schools will NOT be allowed to start the new school year on August 20.

Under Policy 7:100, physical examinations and immunizations are required for all students at different intervals. Because these requirements are state law, students must be excluded from school if they are not in compliance.

Parents/guardians are notified several times during the spring and summer about these important health requirements that prevent disease, allowing students to remain healthy, in school, and ready to learn!

Visit www.bsd2.org/healthexams for a grade-by-grade list of required examinations and immunizations. If you are unsure which health exam, immunization, vision and/or dental forms are required for your child, please contact your school nurse.

Together, we can help all children grow and thrive this school year!
